2021 marks two decades of completion of Bandhan– Konnagar. With women’s empowerment at its core, Bandhan–Konnagar was conceptualised to transform numerous lives in the last 20 years. These women have, in turn, empowered their communities. We are actively engaged with nearly 30 lakh households through our presence in 12 states across the country by offering an entire suite of development programmes in the fields of education, health, livelihood promotion, financial literacy, skill development and employment generation.

The Bandhan Education Programme, which commenced in 2008, encourages a diverse age group of underprivileged children to begin and sustain academics in a congenial environment. The Programme’s unique and low cost model has greatly impacted those who were unreached. Under the Bandhan Education Programme, non-formal schools have been set up where children from underprivileged backgrounds are provided with access to free, quality education from Pre-primary to Class III. After completing Class III, children are admitted to government schools. Besides these, the Programme also provides education at a very nominal cost through a formalised set up known as the Bandhan Academy.
